Halloween

We had a last minute costume call so the kids went to a few houses. Our big plan for the night was to go bowling and skip trick-or-treating....but Aunt Samantha showed up at 5:00 with costumes for Brennan and Ava...it was very sweet of her! Brennan was a ninja and Ava was, well, I'm not sure what Ava was but she sure did look pretty cute. After a few stops we went bowling which was really fun.

Nana was a pumpkin. Ava wasn't quite sure what to think...

Update

Sorry it has been awhile since our last post....life is so busy.

Ava keeps us on our toes, she is super busy all the time and has been sick off and on since surgery. Her little immune system just isn't up to par to keep her free of bugs. She is going to a mommy's day out program (kind of like a daycare/headstart) on Monday and Tuesday and seems to be loving the interaction with the other babies. There are only 4 kids in her class so it is very small and intimate and we think she is learning valuable social skills already. She is now running all over the house and is into everything. She loves to pull the DVD/VHS cases down off the shelves and taking every movie out of the case. We are to the point now that we just leave them laying all over the house because if we clean them up then she will have them back down in 2 seconds flat. Her vocabulary is expanding more and more everyday. Her favorite is still "Hi" with her sweet high pitched voice. She also says..."What's hat" (What's that), an occasional "love you", "No" (while pointing her little finger), "Yeah", "Dada", "Nana", "Naanaa" (trying to say grandma), rarely says mama, "Gigi" (this is another favorite, it is our Great Dane's name and she thinks that everything that walks on all fours is a Gigi), "cat", "huh"....I'm sure there are a few more but that is all I could think of at this point.

Brennan is growing so fast. He is finishing up his fall baseball season. They have lost every game but he has had a pretty good attitude about it which is somewhat surprising. He loves to pitch and gets to for a least one inning in every game. He is so good for his age (if I do say so myself :)) and I think his future will be bright in the sport category. He is doing excellent in school, just brought home his report card and there are all As. He will start basketball in a few weeks which will last until Februaryish and then spring baseball will start again. Jerome is coaching his baseball team this fall and he will also be coaching his basketball team this winter. Brennan really seems to enjoy that time with him. He is learning more and more everyday that his little sister isn't just a cute little baby anymore that just sits there. She is into all of his stuff and he becomes quite annoyed at her. We are now locking his door to keep her out of this room because she knows how to open the doors.

Jerome is working full-time managing the gym. He loves what he does...he is such a people person. Other than that he stays busy with Brennan's practices and games.

I am still teaching full-time. It is a whole other world from private practice. It is so rewarding but at the same time stressful and exhausting. By the time the weekend gets here Jerome and I are so tired we end up staying home and laying on the coach all day catching up on our shows we missed during the week. The weekends have been so nice here that we have been outside quite a bit on Saturday and Sunday. The boys love to play anything out back and Ava and I will go in the front so she can play in the driveway...she loves the little pebbles and getting the stuff out of the garage to sweep the driveway.

Well...I think that is a pretty much sums it up on our end...hope you all are well!

Happy Baby

For the most part Ava is a very happy baby. These shots show her true personality.

First Day

Brennan's first day of school. He is holding up 3 fingers for the 3rd grade. Doesn't he just look so thrilled to be going to school?

We went to a cookout at our Pastor's house and this little guy was there. He is from Africa (his parents are missionaries) and he is 10 days older than Ava. They played so good together.

girls

Ava is so much different than Brennan....she is so dramatic. Sometimes we can't help but laugh at her.

Sweet Ava!

2 seconds later...some of her expressions are priceless.

Check It Out

Just a plug for an amazing blog that I found...great ideas for kiddos. I have a link on the side of the page for it...Chasing Cheerios. All of the blogs are worth checking out...very good info.

Enjoy.

Life Update

Brennan started 3rd grade today.

Oh my he is getting so big.

We asked him how is day was and he only said, "good." He is not much on small talk. But finally he said that the only thing different than 2nd grade is that science is longer...

-----

Ava is doing great. Seems to have recovered well from her surgery in July. We will have an ultrasound on the 24th to see how things look in there.

She will start a mommy's day out program on Monday. She will only go on Monday & Tuesday and then she will be with her NaNa the rest of the week...thank the Lord for NaNa.

----

Jerome is doing the same-old-same-old. Staying busy with work and now sharing more of the housework with me now that I have went back to work, he is such a good man.

----

And I am extremely stressed and spread thin with my new J.O.B. Students return back on Monday and I am in no-way prepared. But, this to shall pass...hopefully sooner rather than later.

Our Sweet Kiddos.

God has blessed us with two amazing children. Brennan is such a precious boy; he is so loving, fun, responsible, has excellent manners, kind, compassionate, and is just all boy - he sleeps late and is such a daddy's boy, he can't wait for Jerome to get off of work everyday. Ava is equally precious. She is an early riser (she was born at 8:40 & usually wakes at about 8:30, coincidence?), she is quite possibly the happiest little person I have ever known, she loves her big brother, she is a mommy's girl, she is into giving kisses to everyone and is almost walking - but crawling is just so much faster. They both continue to amaze us. We are so content with what God has given us and we are trying to raise Godly children. Key word: trying...parenting by far is the hardest thing we have done & continue to do.

Brennan's trophy from coach pitch, Spring '08. He gets to move up to the big time in the fall...kid pitch. So exciting.

Ava is so sweet. Top picture: I just thought this smile was just darling. Bottom picture: she giving Minnie Mouse a kiss, notice her fish face.

On our way home.

Ava's 1st Birthday Party

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Ava's first birthday. It was such a fun evening for us and her.
